Special Olympics Gymnastics is designed
for athletes ages 8 and up who are intellectually
disabled and interested in learning gymnastics
skills such as floor exercise, tumbling or balance
beam.
Athletes learn skills as basic as forward and
backward rolls in tumbling to skills as advanced
as dismounts off apparatus, depending on their
skill levels. Athletes are placed in the appropriate
activity based on their skill levels. Special
Olympics Gymnastics usually begins in February
and continues through May. There is no cost associated
with this program.
