The Hartford Adaptive Equipment Grant

Move United, in partnership with The Hartford, is empowering youth and adults with disabilities to achieve amazing things by making adaptive equipment and sports more accessible. The goal is to make a significant impact in adaptive sports by empowering 60,000 people, including youth and adults with disabilities, to participate in sports and recreation over 10 years. The Hartford Athlete Equipment Grant Application is open for athletes registered for the 2024 Desert Challenge Games. The deadline to apply is April 12, 2024. The athlete(s) selected will be notified (surprised) in-person, during the Desert Challenge Opening Ceremony on Friday, May 31, 2024.


The Hartford Human Achievement Award

Calling all athletes! The Hartford’s Human Achievement award will be presented on Friday, May 31, 2024, at the Opening Ceremony of the Desert Challenge Games in Partnership with The Hartford. The award is given to an athlete, nominated by their peers, who serves as an advocate for the adaptive sports movement and inspires others as a role model. The recipient of this award, who must compete at the event and be available to receive the award in person, will receive a $2,500 grant in support of their athletic pursuits in adaptive sport as well as a VIP gift bag.
